aki is the abbreviation for the "Akademikerhaus". The aki houses the Catholic university chaplaincy and aims to be a house where students can meet.
The garden, the reading room (with many newspapers), the chapel, and various group rooms are open to all students - for refueling, for quiet work, or for meetings. A piano is also available. There is a room for bands in the basement.
Films and festivals, meditations and worship services, discussion groups, and lectures take place at aki. We hope that this will open up new paths for all those who are looking for supportive relationships, holistic education, genuine spirituality, and the last support. You can receive our programme free of charge on request or keep up to date with the activities at aki on our homepage. We are also available for personal conversations. You have priority for us.
And what's more: important Swiss non-profit organizations often meet at aki. This is very much in line with our house because for us, religion is closely related to social commitment.
We look forward to meeting you in person.
PS: On Tuesday lunchtime at 1 pm (during the semester) there is an open lunch, menu Fr. 6.- (oriental cuisine).
We are students from a wide range of disciplines and meet regularly at Community Nights and in SHINE Student Groups to recharge after an intense day of study, to build relationships, and to deepen our faith. At lecture halls or panel discussions we deal with current topics around lively, reflected Christianity. CAMPUS live - first founded in Switzerland in 1977 in Zurich - has been making everyday student life more colorful in Bern since 1982.
Despite its small size, the Christian Catholic Church is present in many ways at the University of Bern: at the Faculty of Theology with the Institute for Christian Catholic Theology, with the student residence, through the student chaplaincy - and above all with students of all subjects.
More information about events in the St. Niklaus Chapel in the dormitory at Pavillonweg 10, 3012 Bern, and other events organized by the student chaplaincy can be found on the website www.christkatholisch.ch/studierendenseelsorge.
You can find the events of the Christkatholische Kirchgemeinde Bern on the website www.christkath-bern.ch. In particular, you are invited to the Wednesday Mass at 18:30 in St. Peter and St. Paul.
We are students from all fields of study at the University, the University of Teacher Education and the Universities of Applied Sciences in the Bern region. We encourage each other to live and share a reflective Christianity together in the midst of everyday university life.
We are part of the nationwide VBG movement and the worldwide IFES. Are you curious or do you have some critical questions for us? We would be happy to get to know you. A warm welcome to you.

In the room on Länggassstrasse near Uni Tobler, we create places of encounter and experience to breathe deeply, to exchange views on questions of individual and social life, to celebrate, and to experience silence. A grand piano is available for playing music.
With our offers, we want to be an inspiration for your personal development on the horizon of a sustainable world community. Together we discover our creative power and search for that which sustains and guides us.
We are also there for you when things are not going well in your studies or relationships, or when you have big questions about the meaning of it all. Don't be afraid to get in touch with us! Independence and confidentiality are a given for us!
